Accordion
Tag Mini-Book
Written by Creative Director Heather Moll

- Cut a piece of cardstock to 3” x 12”.
- Score the cardstock every three inches
and fold accordion style to create four
squares.
- Randomly stamp stars
and words on the inside of the booklet with
white ink. The tags and pockets will
partially cover up the words, but will be
completely revealed when your recipient
removes the tags to read them – kind of like
a little hidden message.
- Cut four pieces of
cardstock to 1” x 2.75”. These are going to
be your pockets. Before stitching, stamp a
star on each piece with white ink. Using
your sewing machine, or by hand if you
prefer, sew on the pockets to the inside of
the booklet, making sure to only sew the
sides and bottom so that you can stick the
tags in the top.
- Cut four tags out
the measure 2.5” x 2.5”. Using a fine-tipped
black marker, hand draw a black line around
the edges of the tags. Also draw a black
line around the front cover.
- Stamp a star
directly onto two of the tags at the top of
the tag with white ink. Stamp two more stars
on a different color of cardstock from the
tags with white ink. Using an exacto knife,
cut out the stars and use a foam square to
pop them up on the top of the remaining two
tags.
- Cut a piece of
cardstock, a different color than the cover,
to 2.75” x 2.75”. This will cover the
stitching that came through on the front
cover from the first inside pocket. Again,
take a fine-tipped black marker and hand
draw a line around the edge of this piece of
cardstock.
- Glue a piece of
ribbon, approximately 17” long to the front
cover.
- Print your greeting
on a piece of cardstock. Cut it so it fits
in the frame on the front cover. Draw a
black line on the inside of the frame,
around the greeting. Glue to the front,
covering up the middle of the ribbon on the
front cover.
- Embellish the cover
with a tag and clip.
- For the quote on
the inside tags, I cut-up a die-cut quote
from the Daisy D’s file folder accessories
(available in the Scraptivity store) and
matted the words I wanted to be highlighted
with a piece of cardstock. I put the quote
on the first three tags and used the fourth
tag to write a message to the recipient of
the booklet.
- Use some of the file
folder words to embellish the outside of the
pockets.
